Meet Danielle...
If you were to look up 'multi-tasker', then you may stumble upon Danielle's photo. Danielle works as a manager, teaches horse-back riding lessons, owns 3 dogs, a horse and a rabbit and somehow still finds time to help the Junior Handlers. One may ask, is there anything this incredible young woman doesn't do?
Danielle has been showing dogs since the young age of 7. She started with her mother's Old English Mastiff (I imagine they were quite the pair in size comparison). She has handled a variety of breeds ranging from Pekingeses to Bullmastiffs. Danielle has won Best in Show, Multiple Reserves and multiple groups across Canada. She has also been competing in obedience for the last decade. She started the obedience journey with her very own German Shepherd who is now helping her teach other junior handlers how to handle.
A Look Back At Over the Years....
In 2012, Danielle competed at Junior Handling Nationals in Ontario for conformation. Next in 2013, she competed for obedience in New Brunswick and placed 3rd with a friend's Malinois. Then in 2014, she competed in both obedience and conformation in Quebec, and placed 2nd that year. Her final year at Nationals was in Ontario, where she again borrowed another one of her friend’s Malinois: Sonny. She had been training with him for a few months and they ended up winning!!! Danielle has had an incredible journey over the years as a junior handler.
Not only is Danielle a seasoned, former junior handler, but she is exceptionally enthusiastic about teaching. She is thrilled to be able to help pay it forward and is looking forward to helping future junior handlers become confident with their skills. Her hope is that they too can grow and hopefully one day have the opportunity to compete at nationals.
